What Does The Obama’s Health Care Reform Bill Say?

Health Care Reform-Plain English

This is in answer to Lori O'Mel's hub question as I asked my hubby the same and received this;

Does anyone know what is really in the proposed health care plan?

Unfortunately almost no one knows here's why: First it’s over 1,000 pages long. Second, it’s written in some foreign form of bureaucratic legal jargon that can hardly be deciphered by the people. And third, I believe they don’t want us to know or to understand it because it’s not for the people. Source: (http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi?dbname=111_cong_bills&docid=f:h3200ih.txt.pdf)

It appears that this bill was written in some secret code, or is that Codex? Oh, you don’t know about Codex Alimentarius (Latin for food code), give me a day or three and I’ll get that to you. Of course the way this administration is going I could be in silenced by then! Basically my research leads me to believe Codex is a carry-over of the Third Reich’s master plan for world supremacy, all by controlling the masses through use of chemicals in their food and medical supply. (Of course this is one of my personal beliefs, I’ll get you more details and you can decide.) (it’s also my opinion that Obama was pushed through the political machinery to Presidency because big biz (Codex) sees him as a great speaker, one who can hypnotize the masses much alike Adolph did. Adolph created Volkswagen and Barack recreated GM into Government Motors.)

Luckily the code used in this bill has been broken by someone who speaks bureaucratic legal jargon and the crux of this bill exposed in the vernacular of the people online.

Below is directly copied from that site, because of the ambiguous wording in the original bill and the ambiguous answers Obama gives I am sure translations will vary.

As a healthcare provider who works with babies and toddlers with disabilities, I find portions of this frightening. Babies born prematurely receive medicaid even if they are not poor; usually private insurance is maxed out during their hospital stays. So, per page 239, the poor, elderly, and fragile will get physicians services reduced...wow, they are the ones that need the most help! Thanks for analyzing this complicated plan. I completely believe that all citizens deserve coverage, so hopefully it can be re-written.

OTMommy, This whole bill seems to be some sort of deception. It has been wrapped in a nice title that appeals to the masses of "Health Care Reform", yet it is clearly all about "Health Insurance" and who pays. It gives the government more control over individual medical choices and information. Direct questions are always answered very generally and vague, but always sound nice.

Questions like, "How will this be funded? are answered with, "a transfer of funds from other federal programs".

In review there is a plan to cut $50 Billion from Medicare over 10 years, but no one wants to say that as it may upset the voting seniors. I feel like we're being sold a nice new looking used car but they won't show us the Carfax.

lisa 2 years ago

This is not even close to accurate. This is part of the problem- you have people such as yourself posting totally inaccurate information and people then believe it.

It looks like Government going to control health plan. Please read my hubs.

I find it a bit queer how an article that is translating the bill finds it so hard to only translate without putting pieces of the author's opinion in there also.

Alice 2 years ago

Wow! Really? The bill is a pain in the ass to read, but I can certainly look up one-page references like you've listed. I looked up the many of them and not one was accurate. In fact, the pages listed don't even match up with the topics you said they have. And the bill doesn't mention national id cards at all!

I can't believe people would be so afraid of this that they won't even find out the truth for themselves. Making up lies to cover their irrational fear is truly pathetic.

Look it up yourself: http://waysandmeans.house.gov/media/pdf/111/AAHCA0

Jason 2 years ago

well, if the part forcing us to buy health insurance IS accurate I don't want any part of this, I don't believe the government is going to "help" the people who can't afford this, and even if they did it will be typical pain in the ass governmental procedure. I don't know about all this but I am sure going to look it up. I feel as an american that if I feel I can afford insurance then I'll get it and it should damn well be MY choice!

Taylor 2 years ago

Lisa, if you have any doubts to the authors summarizations, the full text of the bill is here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/07/15/house-hea

So far, he's eerily accurate. Now, his side opinions on what it will do to the economy are just that, opinions. If you don't want to believe them, don't. That's just inattentional blindness if you ask me. The truth is, socialism (socialized healthcare) hasn't worked in ANY country thus far. Just look at Russia. So we'll see if our country is the exception...

nemosnemos 2 years ago

If this plan is so bad then why are the money hungry Republicans the only ones crying and moaning about this? It's because they are the ones losing out on their next million dollar home.

Matthew Peru 2 years ago

this is carp if this is true then were s-o-l because it is going to take over every thing so i'm moving anyone want to come....

I agree. Get away now!!! OR we can try to change it by all writing letters to congress. Not sure if they will listen or not... You who don't believe, I feel the most sorry for you, for your world will be crushed when you realize the government doesn't give the slightest care in the world toward you. Ignorance is NOT bliss!!!

Brad 2 years ago

What bills arn't writen in that langauge? Isn't that how it suppose to be professional? Now you could make the case that professionalism is to be against the oridinary citizen, yeah probably. But to rule out one bill as written weird. All bills are written like that.

Brad 2 years ago

Socialized medicine hasn't worked in any country? What?

Every developed country in the world (except America) Has universal Healthcare. They get cheaper medicine, free service, everyone's covered. Paid by tax payers, yes. In America everyone says we have free schools, that's paid by tax payers. Free roads? That's paid by tax payers. So if you hate socialism don't drive on roads. Anyways some of these placs have drugs for 5 cents when the same drug is 150 dollars in America. btw the Bill isn't Socialized medicine, its insurance company medicine.

Brad 2 years ago

third comment, The link to the bill you gave isn't the bill that got passed.

So, damn. I'm 17 and just trying to research current politics etc. I like to stay in touch with the world and know about these kinds of things. I am also trying to find were I politically stand therefor I like reading both sides of the spectrum. Right now I don't know too much about the health care plan. I just think it's outrageous how democrats and republicans can go so 'at' each other. Reality is hitting hard. People are so rediculous. I don't understand why I can't just find the truth without any doubts. I'll tell you why:

Because whether you're republican, democratic, or purple with bright pink polka dots, you want to win.

There is such thing as compromise and truth. Maybe more people should test it out. You might be surprised. We should be in this together, not to win. But hey, I'm only 17 right?

Erm 2 years ago

If you could spell 'Adolf' correctly then it might lend your wild ranting some credence.

RG 2 years ago

Just some more right wing ranting of negativity... Comparing Obama to Hitler is just pure republican hatred. You are a perfect example of what is truly wrong with this country right now. That is your PARTY FIRST attitude. Republicans and Democrats have been doing this for decades now and we are all suffering for it. Stop causing problems and start solving them. BRING BACK THE CONSTITUTION!!!

AG 2 years ago

In regards to page 195, the part about how the gov't will have access to financial and personal records. Actually, the bill just says that the gov't can access our tax info., which they already have access to anyway.

If you are just trying to scare people I am sure it is working. If people have the sense to look it up themselves, they can distinguish fact from your opinion.

wendy b 2 years ago

This bill is total government control and not just in your health care. What gives the gov. the right to tax us for illegals. If they can use the same medical for free, tax them if they don't not AMERICANS. It's amazing to me how the gov. looks out for every other country and we are the ones to pay.

josh 2 years ago

Whether this article is accurate or not, all I know is that it looks extremely suspicious that NO ONE can explain what is exactly in the bill. There should really be a bill that requires bills to be fully- and in plain English- be understood by the general public.

WOW! 2 years ago

haha its funny cause I am from the USA and why are we so proud that we can't see that CANADA has a healthy life expectancy than we do by 15 years!!!! that's crazy!!! is their lifestyle so different than ours??? where 29th in infant mortality rates!!!! AHHH!!! lets stop being so stubborn .

Brad 2 years ago

Wendy we don't care about other counties citizens. Illegal Immigrants just happen to help them more than we do. Think about it, they can work jobs (illegaly) meaning they get paid less than min wage. This means companies don't have to spend as much money. Also they tend to work jobs Americans don't even know exist (look up rendering plants). This way not only do Americans stay ignorant but corporations get to have really cheap labor. That's what they want.

unknownnetworker 2 years ago

Obamacare is the most anti-freedom, unconstitutional, immoral piece of legislation ever ''passed'' by Congress, but it is just one part of the tyranny wrecking ball that will clobber Americans under this administration.

Kate 2 years ago

I already live this healthcare. It is what the military has had for years. I usually can get in to see a doctor when I need to, but when I see a different doctor each time (although I am assigned a primary care manager whom I've never seen) its often hard to get them to understand where I'm coming from and not to be thought of as just another number. I only know what I have experienced and the bill sounds like it will make it so everyone has the same kinds of experiences with doctors. Its not bad...but what I'm wondering is if all doctors will be paid the same no matter their specialty (like military doctors who often join to get their schooling, pay their time, and go on to be civilian doctors) what is the draw for them to go through the extra schooling etc. to get learn that specialty?

Brad 2 years ago

The thing is this bill is too much for the insurance companies. The republicans want it, they knew they didn't have to vote for it, so they kept their image. Insurance companies are horrible.

BRAD- you speak so much about other countries having socialized medicine...have you ever been to those other places and received health care. I lived in Italy for 12 years and Germany for 4. Trust me, if you have never been to the hospital in Italy then you know nothing about socialized medicine. All those other countries have horrible health care. The reason they pay a dollar for a pill we spend 150 for is because America is the one doing the research to invent the pill, then other countries copy our methods. It costs more to invent then to copy.
